Places to find comfort

“I originally left the UK in 2012 with a short-term plan to explore and develop my art process but as with all good plans, things change. After a couple of years decided to stay in Barcelona and set up my art business (I also married my Spanish husband so that may have swayed me!)

Living in another country was very challenging for me as I’m not a native Spanish speaker and being a sensitive, creative type, I only open up socially when I feel *really* comfortable.

That didn’t happen. So I began to look for alternative ways to explore and express comfort through art.

The concept of creating ease and comfort is actually fundamental to most healing modalities. We heal when we relax. It’s a natural response.

The process of art-making for me is also incredibly freeing and relaxing. Abstract painting requires nothing of you but to turn up with a completely open mind and be willing to respond to whatever wants to flow through you.
